Century Club

What we’re all about.

The Friends of the Palacios Library Century Club consists of ordinary citizens who generously support the activities of the Palacios & Blessing Libraries every year. Membership funds are earmarked to support the after-school homework and summer programs. These include student academic tutoring, running the summer reading events, providing free internet service, field trips, tutoring jobs for high school students, as well as other learning activities. Also, students gain computer skills and training through our programs. All these programs are hosted by the library.

The funds raised by the Century Club help the Palacios Library sustain many programs, including:

• Free Public Internet Access: Offering high-speed connectivity at both libraries (Palacios & Blessing), enabling essential access for all.

• Summer Reading Programs: Encouraging children to embrace reading and maintain academic engagement during the summer months.

• After-School Homework Assistance: Providing crucial academic support and offering high school students valuable work experience and financial aid for their education.

• Science Rocks!/Art Program: Engaging participants in hands-on activities, fostering problem-solving skills and critical thinking.

• Story Time/Pre-K Hour: Promoting child development through interactive reading and related craft activities.

How Can You Help?

Become a Century Club Member

When you become a member of the Century Club, your contribution of $150 directly supports our programs. To express our appreciation, the Friends of the Library host the annual "Harvest Moon Dinner—Dance." Members receive two (2) complimentary reservations to this popular event. For more information about the Harvest Moon click here. The goal of the Century Club has always been to reach 100 members. Please consider joining or renewing your membership and help us attain that goal this year. If you know of a friend who might want to sign up, please pass the information along.
